SANDRA CATALINA PULGARIN
Sandra Catalina Pulgarín was born in Medellín, Colombia, and arrived in the United States with her parents at the age of 13 in search of new economic opportunities. Sandra completed high school as a bilingual and ESL student at Dover High School in New Jersey, graduating in 2004. After finishing high school, she decided to enroll at the County College of Morris (CCM) and completed her associate degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration in education. While taking classes to earn her associate degree, Sandra worked as a tutor and nanny and as a teacher's assistant at Apple Montessori for children aged 2-6. It was during this time that Sandra began working with us as a preschool assistant at our CENY school. After graduating in 2011, Sandra decided to continue her higher education at Montclair State University in New Jersey to earn her teaching degree. She graduated with a degree in Spanish and ESL (k-12) education, with a secondary field in translation. Five years later and after working in two New Jersey schools, Sandra decided to pursue her Master's degree in Educational Leadership in 2019, obtaining her certification to become a supervisor and school administrator. Currently, Sandra works at the public school in Morristown, NJ, as a Spanish teacher, and this year she is also with us as a teacher at CENY.
